All the teams of The Salad Bowl Project got together on Twinspace to chat and evaluate the activities.   Today SAUSAL Project Team was at school to talk about the activities we have done so far and students were given Certificates of Participation for their contribution to The Salad Bowl Project. We also printed extra copies of the brochures to be distributed to parents, relatives, friends etc. for the dissemination of the project. Evaluation Meeting of Partners 2021 - Naziye KaÅŸka/Turkey

We had the last partners' meeting of this year and evaluated the collaborative activities done so far. We also discussed the activities to be done next school year and we're all excited to start fresh! I congratulate all the partners' for their hard work, devotion and contribution to the project!

Introduction of Turkey by SAUSAL/Alanya and AOSB/İzmir Project Teams - Naziye Kaşka & Seher Akkaş /Turkey

Students and teachers of SAUSAL/Alanya and AOSB/İzmir worked collaboratively to create a video about Turkey, based on the general facts and culture of the country. The students wrote explanations about certain aspects of the country and found short videos related to the themes and their teachers gave continuous feedback in this process. They merged their video contents by the help of their teachers and here is the result! Introduction of Turkey

Social Media: Friend or Foe? - Naziye KaÅŸka/TURKEY

We asked the teenagers from the partnering countries whether they find Social Media a friend or foe. Although many enjoy the advantages of social media they are also aware of the harm it can give them when it is over-used.  All the teams of The Salad Bowl Project worked collaboratively and interviewed eTwinners from the partnering countries about their relationships with Social Media. The teenagers recorded their views about social media and they were split into 2 teams according to their opinions. The mixed-country teams merged their videos with the  coordinator teacher using Movavi Video Editor. Then we shared the videos on our YouTube channel and other social media platforms. International Day for Biological Diversity Celebration - Alexandra Bega/Romania

Biodiversity is the living fabric of our planet. It underpins human well-being in the present and future, and its rapid decline threatens nature and people alike. Now it's time to act for biodiversity! The United Nations has proclaimed May 22 The International Day for Biological Diversity to increase understanding and awareness of biodiversity issues. The Romanian students created two posters and they also created a Slido word cloud where the students from all the partner countries were able to offer solutions for the protection of the environment. Please write your own ideas and solutions for the protection of nature.   SAUSAL Project Team has created a brochure about The Salad Bowl Project and visited the Provincial National Education Governor of Alanya to inform about the project. We have also distributed the brochures to the schools in the district.

19th May Youth and Sports Day Celebration - Seher Akkaş/İzmir - Turkey

Youth and Sports Day is an annual Turkish national holiday celebrated on May 19 to commemorate Mustafa Kemal's landing at Samsun in 1919, which is regarded as the first step towards the independence of the Republic of Turkey.  Mustafa Kemal Atatürk ,the founder of Turkish Republic, gifted this day to the youth. As there are two teams from Turkey in The Salad Bowl Project Team, AOSB Project Team from İzmir wanted to celebrate the day and inform the other teams about the day. They created a poster and a video to inform the other teams about the day. Youth and Sports Day Video  

17th May - World Telecommunication Day - Naziye KaÅŸka/Alanya SAUSAL

World Telecommunication and Information Society Day marks the anniversary of the signing of the first International Telegraph Convention and the establishment of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and is celebrated on 17th May annually. To celebrate the World Telecommunication and Information Society Day, SAUSAL Project Team created a Poster on Canva. We have  created a video to tell the significance of the day using Animaker. International Day of Living Together in Peace Celebration - Vilma Kalvaityte/Lithuania

 The International Day of Living Together in Peace is held on 16th May every year since 2018. The Day aims to uphold the desire to live and act together, united in differences and diversity, in order to build a sustainable world of peace, solidarity and harmony. One of the most important aims of The Salad Bowl Project is to make students realize the ethnic diversity of the World and develop a multicultural unity. So PBS Project Team from Lithuania created a poster about the day and a quiz about the day to inform other teams. Living Together in Peace Quiz

International Day of Families - Portuguese Team - Elizabete Catalao/Torres Novas

The International Day of Families is observed on 15 May every year and reflects the importance the international community attaches to families. The International Day provides an opportunity to promote awareness of issues relating to families and to increase knowledge of the social, economic and demographic processes affecting families. The 2021 observance of the International Day of Families focuses on the impacts of new technologies on the well-being of families which became vital in the Covid-19 Pandemic. Celebration of Ramadan Festival - Alaa Aljrarwa/Jordan

Ramadan is a holy month of fasting, introspection and prayer for Muslims, the followers of Islam. As there are three teams from muslim countries in The Salad Bowl Project, PBS Team from Jordan wanted to introduce this religious tradition to inform other teams about the festival.
